This EU Data Act Information Notice (Notice) is provided by Polaroid International B.V., with registered address at Danzigerkade 16c, 1013 AP, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and all its affiliated entities (Polaroid, we, us) in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 (the EU Data Act).

4. Data Generation Frequency

Analog Products

  • ArrowData is typically generated when a user action occurs (for example, when a photo is taken).
  • ArrowData is generally recorded in close temporal proximity to the action and is not continuously streamed.

BT Connected Products

  • ArrowData may be generated while the product is powered on and connected to a Mobile Application via Bluetooth, as well as when specific actions occur (for example, taking a photo, changing a mode or setting, or changes in battery status).
  • ArrowData may be available near real time, depending on the product and usage scenario.

5. Format, Storage and Volume of Generated Data

Analog Products

  • ArrowFormat and Storage: Generated data is primarily stored locally in log files on the device.
  • ArrowVolume: The volume of generated data depends on usage, product configuration, and technical constraints, and is limited by device memory.

BT Connected Products

  • ArrowFormat and Storage: Generated data is primarily stored locally in log files on the device and, where applicable, within the Mobile Application on the user’s smartphone. A limited subset of usage and technical event data may be transmitted securely via the Mobile Application to Polaroid’s backend systems for analytics and product improvement purposes. This analytics data is typically processed in aggregated form and does not constitute a complete copy of device‑level log files. Certain data may be processed or stored within the European Union or, in limited cases, in other jurisdictions where Polaroid or its service providers operate, in accordance with applicable law.
  • ArrowVolume: The volume of generated data depends on usage, product configuration, and technical constraints, and is limited by device memory.

6. Data Retention and Erasure

For Analog Products and BT Connected Products, generated data is generally retained on a rolling basis. Typically, data relating to recent usage is stored only for a limited number of events (such as recent photos taken), after which older entries may be overwritten or deleted automatically, depending on technical constraints.

Data stored within the Mobile Applications is retained until deleted by the user. Users may delete such data by uninstalling the Mobile Application from their smartphone.

Limited analytics event data transmitted to Polaroid’s backend systems is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to support analytics, diagnostics, product improvement, or compliance purposes, in accordance with Polaroid’s internal data retention policies.

7. Purpose of Gathering Data

Where applicable, Polaroid may gather, use, and store the data described above for purposes such as:

  • Arrowproviding and maintaining Polaroid products and services;
  • Arrowimproving the quality, performance, and reliability of products and services; and
  • Arrowproviding customer support and diagnosing or resolving technical issues.

8. Accessing Data

Under the EU Data Act, users may have the right to:

  • Arrowaccess data generated through their use of the product; and
  • Arrowrequest that such data be made available to a third party of their choice,

in each case where technically feasible and in accordance with applicable law.

For BT Connected Products, users may be able to access or view certain categories of data (such as film count or camera settings) directly within the Mobile Application.

Requests for access to other data under the EU Data Act may be submitted via privacy@polaroid.com. However, due to the nature of certain data, technical limitations, or the absence of a direct link between specific data and an identified user, product, or service, there may be cases where data cannot be accessed or a request cannot be fulfilled.

Where data is made available under the EU Data Act, such data is generally provided in the form and quality in which it is available to Polaroid, subject to technical feasibility and applicable legal limitations.
