Peggy
Hartzell has been gathering images around northern Chester County,
Pennsylvania, for the past twenty years. Most recently she has
been working with the Polacolor Image Transfer process to create
one-of-a-kind prints on Arches watercolor paper. The peaceful
presence of passing seasons is a common thread running through
her images of nature and old buildings. The boundaries of the
transfers are extended or merged with watercolors and Prisma
color pencils.
She
holds a BFA in Photography from University of the Arts in
Philadelphia and teaches photography at Henderson High School
in West Chester, PA.
She
is currently pursuing her MFA in Art Education at University
of the Arts.
Her work is included in the Polaroid Collection and appeared
in the Polaroid CD-ROM Exhibition 2000. Her most recent photographs,
created under the auspices of Polaroid's Artist Support Program,
have been exhibited widely.
