The
20x24 Camera System Today
The
20x24 Cameraone of six in the world todayis
a sophisticated photographic system that produces high resolution, full
color 20x24-inch (50x60 cm) contact photographs in 70 seconds. These features,
combined
with its ability to record the most minute detail, make the 20x24 system
ideal for large-scale portraiture, fine art and commercial photographic
projects.
The system offers
three films: Polacolor
ER film, perfect
for capturing
subtle color nuances such as skin tones, produces a high quality, fine
grain, glossy, instant color print; Polapan
black-and-white, a high-speed medium contrast film, produces a full range
of gray tones with
great smoothness; and the new P6
film, available ony in
the 20x24-inch format, provides remarkably vibrant yet
true color.
Polacolor
ER and P6
films are among the most archivally stble films available. They are manufactured
with metalized color dyes that are patently fade-resistant.
The camera is a five-foot
(1½ m) tall, 225-pound view camera mounted on wheels. Its full-size
Fresnel viewing screen facilitates focusing and framing. Lenses ranging
from 135mm to 800mm permit minute reduction as well as 10 times magnification.
The camera can be set up to duplicate transparencies from 35mm to 8x10-inches
(20x24 cm). While Polacolor film is not intended to be a copy film, this
technique works well in printing for Image
Transfer and Emulsion
Lift.
