Windows 2000 Installation Instructions - Polaroid DMC
1e v1.25b
|
|
| |
The current release of the Polaroid
DMC 1e software is available for download from Polaroid
Customer Support web pages. The current version is
v1.25b and is available with full user support for
the Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4 operating
systems from Microsoft.
The available software works under the Windows 2000
operating system with some known issues. These are
described below.
An administrator of the Windows 2000 system must install
the DMC 1e v1.25b software. Since the DMC 1e hardware
may need to be installed, only a system administrator
will be able to install the camera, the related drivers,
and the software. During installation, Windows 2000
will report that the software does not have a digital
signature. This can be safely ignored. Click "Yes"
at this query.
An administrator has access to all features of the
software without restriction.
If a Power-User or a regular restricted User requires
to use the DMC 1e software, he/she must be granted
read/write/execute access permissions to the "<Windows
2000>\Twain_32\Polaroid DMC 1e" folder on the machine.
<Windows 2000> refers to the folder on the machine
where Windows 2000 has been installed. This folder
is usually the "C:\WinNT" folder on most machines.
The DMC 1e software is installed in the "<Windows
2000>\Twain_32\Polaroid DMC 1e" folder, and this folder
is also used to store application settings and calibration
data.
The Windows 2000 operating system places severe restrictions
on the areas of the computer file system (the hard
drive) that a non-administrator may write to. This
is the reason why read/write access to the above folder
is needed. Please contact your system administrator
to receive this access on your machine.
Please download the DMC 1e v1.25b software from the
download page
from the Windows 95/98/NT section.
