AVONDALE, Ariz. (April 11, 2008)- Kyle Krisiloff and the No. 41 Polaroid Team finished 24th in the eighth race of the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) season Friday night at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). They lined up 27th and raced up to as high as 21st before calling it a night with the top-25 finish.
The Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) team battled an extreme loose condition the majority of their effort Friday under the lights at PIR. Crew Chief Brian Pattie called for multiple chassis and air pressure adjustments to try to get the No. 41 Dodge to get a better handle on the one-mile track while Krisiloff worked to hit his marks and not overdrive his entry into the corners of the raceway.
Krisiloff did his best to keep his car on track and on the lead lap, but as the field embarked on the last quarter of the 200-lap competition the No. 41 CGRFS NNS Dodge fell one lap down. Still, the driver and crew maintained a top-25 run the majority of the night to cross the finish line just the same—in 24th place.
Fortunately, the weather cleared in just enough time for the NNS race to get underway just after 2 p.m. ET. Clauson maintained a top-20 run the majority of the day and was going to wrap it up just the same when the No. 24 car wrecked right in front of him on lap 189 of the 198-lap competition. The late-race collision ended the team’s day just nine laps away from the finish line in 29th place.
The No. 41 CGRFS NNS team now stands 29th in the overall owner points rundown. With a current tally of 321, the team is 158 points outside the top 10 and 284 out of first.
Next, the CGRFS Nationwide teams head to Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to run the road course in Mexico City on Sunday, April 20. The NNS race is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET and will broadcast live on ESPN and MRN Radio.
