International Consumer Electronics Show – January 2008

Polaroid put an exclamation point on its transformation from an instant film company to a leading consumer electronics company at CES in Las Vegas this year. With its 7,000 plus square foot booth, Polaroid showcased new designs for digital cameras, LCD TVs, portable photo frames, and other products. Plus, media from all over the world focused their spotlights on Polaroid for the unveiling of its newest products, the Freescape™ Digital Media Exchange and the Digital Instant Mobile Photo Printer. Party time at the Polaroid Beach House in Malibu – Summer 2007

A-list celebrities gathered at the ocean-front property for a series of exclusive events. The residence was completely decked out with large flat panel TVs, portable DVD players, and digital cameras, allowing the Hollywood “it” crowd to interact with Polaroid’s latest gadgets.

Lucky Club  – May 2007

TV stars flocked to New York during “Upfront” week where television networks announce their fall primetime schedules and tentative launch dates of new programming. Many of the biggest stars stayed at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton where Polaroid gifted a 7 megapixel digital camera and a media backup at the Lucky Club, a party venue hosted by Lucky Magazine. The party garnered the attention of Amanda Bynes, Anne Heche, Kenan Thompson, and the casts of The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, and Lost.

 
   

Kentucky Derby – May 2007

Polaroid was on hand for the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby, gifting a 7 megapixel digital camera at Stuff Magazine’s VIP Issue Party. Hosted by Stuff’s May covergirl, Taryn Manning, the party was held at the Mercantile Lofts in downtown Louisville and attracted Brittany Murphy, Joey Fatone, Melissa Joan Hart, Jason Lewis, and many others.

Habitat for Humanity – Minneapolis, Minnesota – May 2007

Of the many service organizations Polaroid works with, one of the most rewarding has been Habitat for Humanity. In May of 2007, several Polaroid employees put their carpentry skills to work building a Minneapolis home for a family of 4. The Polaroid team installed floors, doors, bathroom fixtures, stained and varnished trim, and hand-fashioned wood trim to complete the custom windows. Putting in elbow grease at the worksite were: Mike Von Ehwegen, Tom Gilgenbach, Matt Otto, Tristan Galvan, Julie Goetzke, Jack Goetzke, Michelle Galt, Melanie Martin, Michelle Montazeri, Carl Alleman, Dan Jakobe, Nyla Hoffman, and Vladimir Kazhdan.

Stanley Cup Visits Polaroid – April 2007

The crown jewel of hockey visited Polaroid on April 17, 2007. Dozens of Polaroid employees and their families flocked to the sparkling cup for numerous photographs. An NHL representative was on hand to answer several questions about the cup including how much it weighs (35 lbs.), how old it is (114 years), and how often does it travel (250 days a year!). A proud sponsor of the Minnesota Wild, Polaroid arranged the visit the same day the Wild played the Anaheim Ducks in their second ever playoff appearance in their six year history.

   

Hennessy/Polaroid "Smokin’ Aces" Party at Mokai – February 2007

It was a wild time at Miami's Mokai when Polaroid hosted a party for the film "Smokin' Aces" starring Jeremy Piven, Common, Andy Garcia, and Ben Affleck. Stars like Piven, Taye Diggs, Andy Roddick, and Matt Leinart showed up to party 'Big Game' style, as Miami's Super Bowl weekend provided the ultimate backdrop for the Smokin Aces Party.

Sundance Film Festival – January 2007

The stars were shining in Park City, Utah at the Sundance Film Festival where Polaroid was on hand to gift digital imaging products. The promotion included giving a 6 megapixel digital camera and 7” digital picture frame to stars like Teri Hatcher, Nick Nolte, Katherine Heigl, Timothy Hutton and many more.

Breast Cancer Research Foundation – September 2006

Polaroid teamed with model and actress Elizabeth Hurley in New York City on September 25 to kick off October as Breast Cancer Awareness month. Events included a $60,000 check presentation from Polaroid to Ms. Hurley and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the illumination of the General Motors building in beautiful hues of pink. The events, designed to raise breast cancer awareness, also marked the launch of Polaroid’s Pink Camera Campaign for Breast Cancer.

   

Polaroid Lounge at VMA – August 2006

Polaroid played host to a pre-party to MTV’s Video Music Awards at the exclusive Marquee nightclub in New York City on August 29th and 30th.  Among those who flocked to the party were Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo, Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, and Christian Slater.  The Polaroid plasma TVs, portable DVDs and digital cameras that were on display were a hit with the crowd gathered there.
